We continue to watch the lake for signs of young loons . So far, we have seen none. We know that there are definitely two pairs of loons. We also see single loons at various locations with no others present. We also see groups of loons that mean there are visitors from other lakes. We have checked traditional nesting areas and have seen no signs of activity.
As for other bird species that are observed in the survey, we have seen no comorants but continue to see the sea-gulls which have always been on the lake. However, we have seen no signs of young gulls.
There are a few herons around the lake as well as kingfishers.
