Today sets the record for the number of loons seen together on the lake. At 7 AM there were 11 loons out in first bay . They flew in to join other loons in fishing and socializing and then left after about one hour. Loons were seen skittering across the water and jumping out of the water ( bucking ). Groups of loons are seen regularly, but not of this size. (I have heard of 29 loons gathered at once on Kennisis Lake).
I wonder how the loons on the other lakes all know when it's time to gather and where to meet ?
