While the weather we've been having may not be a reliable indicator of Summer, the return of the winter birds and animals with their offspring sure is. Most of our winter birds have returned with one or two young - the chickadees, nuthatches,and even our crow who's been here for the past few winters. We await the coming of the bluejays, and the hairy and the downey woodpeckers. There was a hairy here the other day and it was doing what they all do - they come back by themselves to "check everything out" and then the bring in the rest of the family a few days later.
On the animal side, there a lots of chipmunks and the snowshoe rabbit has brought two bunnies. There is also one doe with two fawns in the area!
A busy time for all !
