Water Quality Testing - 2007

The yearly testing of Loon Lakes water quality is comprised of two phases. The first phase is the sampling and testing of water for total phosphates (TP). The second phase is the measuring of water clarity using a Secchi disk. While the samples for TP analysis were submitted to the Ministry of the Environment in the Spring, the results of the Secchi measuring were sent to them last week - the last test being done on October 16/07. The Ministry of the Environment maintains an excellent website that not only explains water quality testing but contains the results of monitoring for all lakes in their LakePartner program.
