Everyone's talking about the big meltdown this year. It's here at Loon Lake too! Last night we ate dinner listening to thunder and watching lightning. It's rained for two days and the temperature's been as high as 10 degC. There's green grass in spots on the backyard and all of the snow is gone from the roofs. There was even a mosquito-like bug seen yesterday ! The lake is going to be great for skating if we get some good freezing temperatures. The roads are as expected - unstable with a mix of mud, ice, and lots of runoff. We're keeping off it until it freezes again and gets a dusting of snow that gives traction.
