The recent meltdown combined with the heavy rains raised the level of water in the lake a lot - so much that there was quite a gap between the shoreline and the ice pan. The water level is once again dropping and there's actually rapids at the big culvert on Gregory Lane . There's also a torrent of water flowing over the one log in the dam on the Burnt River. This picture, taken today, shows the flow of water below the dam. This condition doesn't usually happen until April of each year !
