To-day I attended an advertised public awareness meeting at the Dysart Council Chambers. Present at the meeting were officials from the County of Haliburton and Bell Aliant.
A grant of $30 Million for the ongoing development of a broadband infrastructure is available from OMAFRA and is to be shared among all rural communities across the southern parts of Ontario. Communities must apply for these funds. Bell Aliant will work with Haliburton Highlands as it did last year to submit excellent proposals to the Government to secure some of the funding. The funding is not guaranteed to be allocated to the Haliburton Highlands and we must demonstrate that we deserve the funding.
If you want to have High-Speed Internet service on Loon Lake, you must let Bell Aliant know.
The contact person at Bell is Jim Neubauer , General Manager - Ontario East (613) and the Kawartha's (705).
He may be contacted at:
jim.neubauer@bell.ca
Phone: 1-888-342-1004
Give him your location and contact information.
