Spring Is Still Coming !

To-day, we have over 5 inches (13 cm) of fresh snow all over everything. The ice has stopped disappearing from the lake for now. A week ago, the lawn chairs were set up on bare ground and it was shirt-sleeve weather! The roads around the lake - at least on the West Shore - haven't yet been plowed by the snow plow contractors. Roofs are now snow covered and they were once bare. The chipmunks have gone back into the ground; the flocks of birds are huge as birds desperately look for seeds [we're still feeding]; and deer have come out of the bush and are once again feeding on shoreline cedars and ground hemlock.

Quite a dramatic change ! It seems to be all part of the weird and sometimes dramatic weather conditions we've been experiencing. The weather everyone's been attributing to "global warming". And if this is what "global warming" is all about - I don't like it!

But there is some good news - the lake water level is now dropping !
