Despite the heavy rains we've had, the lakewater level continues to drop . Eventually it won't be able to drain further because of the sand build-up at the river's mouth and in the river. these photos will give you an idea of just how low the water is. The river actually looks like and smells like an ocean tidal flat! With the water so low, the shorebirds are having a field day.
