A Precision Landing

Sitting at my computer this morning, I looked out onto the lake and saw a loon flying straight toward me, just a few inches off the water. It looked like it was going to land and sure enough it touched down! But it didn't stop immediately, instead it skimmed across the water for well over thirty feet. And while it was skimming, it maintained perfect balance as it slowed down. And it didn't flap it's wings or make any other movements other than just stay level and let itself come to a stop. The lake was absolutely smooth, allowing the loon to leave behind a very thin "V" on the surface. Precision and absolutely beautiful to watch....
