This summer we have been very fortunate to have two families of Hummingbirds staying with us. We appropriately named the first male “Hummer” because of the loud humming sound he makes as he flies close to you. We had no idea just how “sociable” a Hummingbird could be ! About a week ago, the parents started to bring their youngsters to the feeder. Watching these tiny and friendly birds zip through the air while making different chirping noises is mesmerizing! And the feeling you get when one sits on a branch and watches you for the longest time before flying down and landing on your shoulder can’t be described!
