The Arrival of Winter–Brrrrr

It’s finally arrived. We have eight inches of snow on the ground and the temperature outside is minus twenty-two degrees centigrade. There’s a light fog over the lake and the trees around me are cracking like rifle shots.

Loon Lake froze over last night, almost two weeks later than it did last year. It will however be a while before the lake is safe enough for walking or snowmobiling.
