As we head into August, the Coalition for Equitable Water Flow warns of continuing declining water levels. The Trent Severn Waterway is into a heavy drawdown of water to supply the commerce and recreation of the Trent Canal System south of us.
Here’s the link to the Coalition’s website:

My sidebar to the right of this posting area has a link directly to the Trent Severn Waterway.
Our water levels will never drop to the degree they once did, because of the accumulation of sand and sediment at the mouth of the Burnt River. That restriction is a two edged sword: it holds water in the lake for better boating while at the same time allowing the nutrient levels in the lake to accumulate. Thankfully, Loon Lake is a low nutrient lake!
