Not surprisingly, wolves have returned to our area! It was about one week ago that we saw a wolf entering the bush after having crossed Highway 118 - just east of Paynes Road. It's coloration was similar to the one above; it certainly appeared healthy; and it was large.
We've noticed that the deer population in our immediate area seems to have declined somewhat and that just about anywhere you walk on the bush roads there is wolf scat.
In fact, this morning we found wolf scat containing the remnants of a devoured squirrel on the patio in front of our home!
It promises to be an interesting winter...
