Not too far from Loon Lake is a little known piece of our local history. It's called the Emmerson Dam.
I remember it from decades ago when I used to carefully cross it to get to the W.O. Bailey mill to watch logs being peeled to make veneer.
The dam has been undergoing extensive rebuilding work this past year, under the watchful eye of it's owner, Kim Emmerson.
The work has been in the planning stages for years, and I was told it took nine years to get the Work Permit from the MNR !

Tomorrow at 1:00 PM is a re-dedication ceremony at the dam and all are welcome !
