A Long Cold Trail

This is a deer trail that tells quite a story. It's been in use for a good part of the winter and it's used primarily by a doe that has two yearlings. They've been coming almost nightly to eat an end of day snack of spilled birdseed. It turns out that black oil sunflower seeds are a favorite of deer. They will arrive at dusk and scrounge for a while before going to nibble on cedars and bushes in the area. The trail comes from the river area and gets so well packed that you can walk on it without sinking into the snow. Trail use will stop soon as the deer return back into the bush and as the ice starts to go out!
