I haven't hear the cry of the loon in weeks nor seen one anywhere on the lake. Today, while filling a bird feeder, I heard it call out, just yards from me on our shoal.
Notice how it's markings have all changed!
It sure was nice to hear!
I guess it won't be long before it heads away south or to the Atlantic for the winter.
Our leaves are all down and the water remains quite low as we head slowly towards winter.
