Today is Wednesday, May 9/07 and it's 6:02 am.
I've been up off and on all night - awakened up by the
Loons calling on the lake. Warm night, and the
A/C not yet turned on ... so I left the window
wide open. Heard an animal "talking" in the pond and
some early morning splashing.....
Thought I'd look at the idea of creating a BLOG for the lake
where people can come to get bits of information about the lake throughout the seasons.
BUGS
Yesterday the blackflies (they've been around a few days)
started to swarm. The odd one tried to bite.
THE BUSH
The buds are coming out now - green on the aspens and poplars and red on some of the maples. There are also some tree blossoms appearing. The forest mats now have small flowers and trilliums.

A BUSY TIME ON THE LAKE
The ground continues to be prepared for the huge power poles on the north shore where the new Hydro line will be installed. Actually, the old line is being moved to beside the highway for better accessibility and service.
