Sometimes living "inland" certainly has it's advantages. By inland , I mean away from the influence of the Great Lakes. We didn't get the huge dumps of snow that areas adjacent to the Great Lakes - Parry Sound & the GTA got over the last couple of days. Instead we got about 2" of fluffy powder snow.
On the ground, we have about 8" in our backyard. A bit more in the bush.
I went out on the lake walking yesterday and there's about 4" of light snow on top of hard ice - no slush! The ice thickness in front of out place and over into Sunrise bay remains at about 10".
Looking outside this morning, the sky's clear with stars out. The temperatures a crisp -12 degC. Looks like a great day !
