We went to see the new loon chick yesterday. It seems to be doing quite well as it's now diving. It's being looked after by two parents who watch over it constantly. Even though we were quite a distance away, the mother, pictured here, came quite close to our canoe while being very vocal. We heeded her advice and left the area !
The other young loon, no longer a chick but a full grown teenager, is now busy trying to learn how to fly !
