An Moonlight Visitor

As I post this, I am waiting for a chance to see the same night time visitor I encountered yesterday morning. Yesterday I didn't expect the visitor and I didn't have my camera ready. To-day I am ready. The visitor was a Barred Owl. It was perched on our deck post, six feet from the window. At first I didn't see it, but when I did, I couldn't move slow enough to avoid it seeing my movement. I noticed it almost at the instant it spun it's head around and stared right at me - that moment before flight. What an eerie sight it was under the moonlight. Haunting doesn't describe it! It of course was there watching our feeders, where flying squirrels come almost nightly now. If I'm lucky enough to see it and get a picture, I'll post it.
