There are always surprises when you live at Loon Lake! This morning, in the middle of a bad snowstorm, this furry little visitor arrived unannounced. It's an Eastern Grey Squirrel, normally found in Southern Ontario . It is rare in this area but sometimes seen in the scant oak forests just south of the Algonquin Park boundary. For some reason it has travelled to Loon Lake , perhaps looking for nut producing trees such as Oak and Beech.
