The ice composition is starting to change - there is less black ice and the remaining white ice is becoming softer. And the lake water is coming up causing some wet patches along the shorelines. There is also some heaving of ice at some shoreline locations. These are all signs of the ice starting to leave.
The Loon Lake Road (Ross Point Road) is drivable to just past Victor Neimi Lane. Beyond that point, it is not drivable. South-facing hills have some center gravel with ice and packed snow. Non south-facing hills have over twelve inches of hard pack snow on ice. Deep hard pack snow by the creek and past the spring.
Near the government landing, the road is mixed hard pack snow and ice with some center gravel spots.
