The "health" of Loon Lake is carefully monitored by several different agencies each year. And there are volunteers who "work" for those agencies by collecting samples and submitting them for analysis. One of the agencies is Ontario's Ministry of the Environment. The MOE, as it is known, has successfully operated the Lake Partner program for several years. Samples of Loon Lake waters as well as measurements of water clarity are submitted to the MOE and they are not only monitored by the MOE but are published in the Spring of each year on their Lake Partner website.
