New Lake Trout Strain Added to Loon Lake

Last week, the Haliburton highlands Outdoors Association along with the Ministry of Natural Resources released 1400 lake trout into our lake. These were the Redstone Lake Trout that have been shown to be genetically similar to the Haliburton strain of lake trout originally found in Macdonald and Clear/Clean lakes. This latest release of trout is part of the MNR's lake trout management program for Loon Lake.
