Loon Watch Update

The young loon is the same size as the mother now. And it is diving for food and swimming separate from the her. It has it's normal plumage and the down is no longer visible. It does not have the full markings of a loon but then neither does the mother at this time of year. The next item on the young loon's schedule will be learning to fly, and that usually doesn't happen for at least another month.
