While we were walking yesterday, we came across a Hydro employee who told us he was out checking a pole for replacement. The pole was being replaced because it had been damaged by a big blackbear trying to get insects from the pole wood! The pole is located on the line that runs from Portage Lake to Minnicock Lake and is fairly inaccessible. From these pictures you can get an idea of just how big the bear stood as it tried to dig out a snack ...
