As we head toward March, subtle signs of spring are starting to appear at Loon Lake. The temperatures are beginning to moderate and the snow conditions are changing to a "stickier" or wetter snow.
Yesterday, as it has done for the past few years, our lone dove appeared at our feeders. It stays and feeds only for a few days as it makes it's journey northward. Oddly enough, the same dove appears each fall, and stays for a few days [usually three] as it heads southward to warmer climates.
And on the weekend, four moose passed through the area as they migrate back to their summer habitat. They follow the same route that they have followed for years.
All very predictable - and all part of the enjoyment of living on Loon Lake!
