We have several loons back on the lake and we are seeing at least one pair. And this pair was seen two days ago in a known nesting area, so we're hopeful......
That's good news.
And some more good news is that our water level is still quite high while other lakes in the area are already experiencing low water levels. There was not a lot of spring runoff and there hasn't been much rain. We too could experience lower than normal water levels later in the year - we'll have to wait and see!
Now the bad news - the mosquitoes are starting to come out while the black flies haven't yet gone.
