A Reality Check

Every once and a while in this busy world, it pays to stop for a minute and take a look at what is really happening around you. We are in early summer and probably about one-half of our winter bird species have returned with their young ones. It happens every year and the youngsters are brought here and introduced how to get food for the coming winter. It's really quite an experience as the parent birds introduce their family to us. The cautions and the overcoming of them are truly amazing to experience. So far we have the chickadees, the blue jays, and of course the raucous crows. Yet to come are the nuthatches and the various woodpeckers. When you stop and realize how Mother Nature takes care of her flock, you realize there's a lot more to life.....
