Right On Schedule…..

GooseBackMar3 007

If this isn’t a sign of Spring, I don’t know what is! This goose arrived Thursday morning at about 6:30. [At that time, the temperature was –14 degC - and Thursday night the temperature dropped to –24 degC]! It flew past our window doing lots of honking. It continued into First Bay where it looked for open water at the mouth of Beaver Valley creek. Not finding any, it flew back past our place, honking as it headed toward the river. It eventually found some water, where it stayed all day. It’s still in the river, since still have almost thirty inches of ice on the lake. What is absolutely amazing is that the goose arrived back almost the same time last year - at the start of next week . And at that time it flew past our home looking for water in First Bay. Who says Mother Nature’s animals don’t have clocks?
