Around Loon Lake

With the heavy snowfall we had last week and the following warmer weather, there's quite a few "slushy" areas out on the lake. There is still only one fish hut on the lake - close to the shore in First Bay; and there has been limited snowmobile traffic on the lake, and nobody walking.

Highways remain very good in the area and roads on each side of the lake are plowed. There is ice on the Gregory Lane network on the west side of the lake, so it pays to travel carefully. The sides of the traveled portion of the road tend to have snow covered areas and do provide some traction. There is also some residual sand on the roads that provide limited traction.
