Mother Nature's been working on freezing over Loon Lake for the past few days, but the stillness of last night at -11 degC saw a complete freeze. The lake's been consistent over the past few years, with last year's freezing over taking place on December 29 at -21degC. Each year, I input the "ice on" and "ice off" conditions to the Ministry of the Environment's "Ice Watch" program where a record for our lake from 2007 onward is maintained.
