Year End at Loon Lake

As we head into Winter, we've been having cycles of deep cold followed by warm sunny days. As the snow melts on the shoreline trees, it refreezes to form these little icicles. Near shore, the ice is about 4 inches thick but gets thinner further out from shore. The lake never got a quick freeze this year and now with snow on it, there are slushy spots forming.

There's about four inches of snow in the bush and the roads around the lake are being well maintained.
