A Waiting Game...

Taken about one half hour ago, this is the main breach on the Gregory Lane causeway. There is another breach on the south side of the new culvert that is about twelve feet wide and eighteen inches deep. There are two more areas washing out as you travel further in the road.

It's now a waiting game since repairing the road now while there's still a lot of water draining and while there's a lot more to come from the lake ice and bush snow would be pointless. And to try to plug any of the breaches would only divert water to find it's way to the dam at another location. And plugging breaches would only contribute to more flooding.

There's bad flooding in lowland areas and the lake water stayed at a constant level throughout most of the day, showing an almost imperceptible drop as I write this update.
