In mid-July, when we're enjoying water sports or just plain lounging on our docks, the lake water temperature easily hits 27 degC. Yesterday, the water temperature off the cement wall at the mouth of the Burnt River was a chilly 4 degC. And I wasn't in the water, I was busy measuring how much longer until the start of Walleye spawning.
That begins at about 7 degC and lasts until about 10 degC !
