Possible Major Changes to the Trent Severn Waterway

MP Barry Devolin has created Private Member's Bill C-530 to initiate major infrastructure and management changes to the Trent Severn Waterway. C-530 had it's first reading in the House of Commons on June 11, 2013. You may read about the announcement and read the bill on the website for the Coalition for Equitable Water Flow at the following link:

While on the CEWF website, you may wish to read their article on the currently high water levels throughout our area. The article also contains information about the recent April and May floodings.

While environmental conditions were somewhat involved in the multiple breachings that occurred on the Gregory Lane in mid-April, the possibility of the existence of multiple causes is being researched.
