It's That Time of the Year !

Yes, it's fall and if you get up about 5:30 am any morning, you're almost guaranteed to see an unforgettable Sunrise.

The leaves are falling and I'd say that we're at peak colour.

There's still some loons on the lake including a "late arrival" that appeared two weeks ago...there is a juvenile loon that the mother was able to hide from our many observations throughout the season.

We're in discussions now with Bird Studies Canada regarding whether or not the juvenile should be included in this year's count. We believe the juvenile is not one that flew in from another lake and bonded with a parent but one that was borne here.  Either way, Loon Lake has a new Loon !
