Almost a Historical Low Water Condition
Here's low water ! These pictures are taken at the site of the Spring 2013 wash out on the Gregory Lane. The sand bars on the river bottom were created as the huge volume of water cut it's way to the dam.
When on the lake, you'll notice that the water is lower than Summertime, but not as low as you may remember from a few decades ago. And that is because there are resistances to drainage that exist between the lake and the Loon Lake dam. Hence the lake can't drain as low as it used to !
The water in Stump Lake is really low.
And when you follow the link below you'll get to the Trent Severn data for our lake. You'll see that we're approaching an all time historical low for Loon Lake. The data for the graph is obtained by an auto logger attached to the dam and represents the height of water above the sill of the dam.
