Next month, Ontario's Ministry of the Environment will be conducting a water study on our lake. There are done every seven years.
Not only will water samples be taken from the water column but dissolved oxygen levels and related temperatures will be measured from the top to the bottom of the lake.
A complete chemical profile will be created and should be very informative.
In addition, bottom sampling will be done to capture and study life (or absence thereof) on the bottom.
Once the data and samples have been taken, they will be sent to a laboratory for analysis.
And while some of information will be available shortly after the sampling, other information will take a few months before it's available.
I will be sharing the information on this website with everyone as soon as it becomes available. And I will be retaining it in my files for future reference.
In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
