Wolf Kill on Loon Lake

Wolves killed a deer this weekend. It happened between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The location of the kill was on the lake, east of Foster's smaller island, just offshore from where the creek that passes underneath the Loon Lake Road enters the lake. It's a fairly secluded spot and has been the site of wolf kills in the past.

The carcass was cleaned Sunday by a dozen Ravens as well as the Bald Eagle that still lives in the area.

There have not been a lot of deer or wolf tracks seen on our side of the lake but we came across a Black Wolf on the Gregory Lane at the Moccasin Trail junction a few weeks ago. When the wolf saw us, it disappeared into the bush!
