While feeding birds in the wintertime can be a real rewarding experience, just about anything can happen. This racoon was captured with our infrared trail camera as it tried to get suet from our tree located feeder. We had noticed, over the course of a few days, that suet was disappearing at a rate more than we expected. We knew it was going somewhere but had no idea "who" was taking it. We expected either a mink, weasel, or a racoon. Using our trail camera that captures images using infrared light, without a visible flash, we were able to solve the mystery. The solution so far, is to bring that feeder inside at night.
