To listen to a wolf howling is one of the most captivating and memorable outdoor experiences I can think of.
Last night, around 9 pm, was no exception.
We heard the howling while we were watching TV inside our home. We knew they were close when we opened the door to better listen and to try and locate them.
They were near the Gregory Lane, directly behind our home. And there were several of them howling at the same time.
Our experience lasted only a few minutes and we will try to find out today if their howling was a celebration of a kill.

Loon Lake
About Loon Lake ....
Loon Lake is located in South-Central Ontario, about 8 miles east of the town of Haliburton. The center of the lake is located at N 45 00.971 and W 78 22.614 , in GPS terminology. Taking the top of the picture as North, the lake is 1.25 miles in an East-West direction and 1.58 miles in a North-South direction. The deepest measurment recorded in the lake is 114 feet.
