A Rare Visitor

This little guy is rarely seen this late in the winter and is considered to be a rare visitor from November through March.

He's a Belted Kingfisher and is frequently seen in the summer not only near the Burnt River but along the North-West shoreline of our lake.

The tree where he is perched is beside the large pool on the Stump Lake side of the Gregory Lane culvert. And the shallow waters beside the pool is where he catches his fish.

He is normally long gone by now; but this year's warmer weather has allowed him to stay longer.
