Nesting Loon 2016

Here is a picture of this year's nesting loon, taken using a telephoto lens from a distance so as to not bother the loon. 

Please do not go near the loon and try to keep away from the area.

We are monitoring the loon as part of the Canadian Lakes Loon Survey and our information will be submitted late this fall, after any chicks have been raised.

I will also post information on this Blog.

The Trent Severn Waterway has advised they will be starting to drop the water levels this week. We hope the lowering of the water doesn't cause problems for the loon as she tries to travel to and from her nest.
