Deep Snow Continues - And It's Not Quite Winter !

The snow depth on our back lawn is at 51 cm ( 20" ) ! It's light snow , with one layer of hard pack in it. This depth is uniform just about everywhere except where there's been some drifting.
That includes my roof - which I raked yesterday for the second time so far this winter because it had built up even deeper on the north face. The light snow can become wet and heavy so it came off !

Our road in from the highway is excellent and Hawk River is once again doing a superb job of clearing snow ! So far this winter, the road has been plowed 8 times.

Not sure what the lake ice will be like this winter - a deep layer of snow on it usually means lots of slush. Not good if that happens . Time will tell ! With all the snow, we could have quite high water this spring too.

Despite the building snow depth, it is beautiful to see in the winter - particularly on the trees and where it drifts !
