Today, I measured the thickness of the ice just off our shoal. It's 15" (38cm) thick of which
3" (8cm) is white ice. There has been a lot of snowmobile activity on the lake and quite a few people out walking today. There is no slush and there is about 4" (10cm) of powder snow on the surface. There's some ice fishing activity at several locations and two huts on the lake so far.
While the ice is quite thick by our home, it's not as thick as it's been in past years and one must always be careful of ice thickness when travelling on any lake!
