With the return of Spring, we are starting to see the annual return of BUGS ! As expected, the blackflies are the first to return. They started to appear mid-week, but are now getting to be bothersome. However - they are only starting to "swarm" with no biting. The biting will come in a couple of days ! Best bet is to completely avoid them is by staying indoors as much as possible. But that can't be done with outdoor chores waiting to be completed. So stay well covered, using even headnets and gloves. And watch those ankles! An old trick up in this country is to wear long underwear to ward off those blackflies that crawl inside pant legs and sleeves. And try to keep in windy areas !
No wonder some say they prefer snowflies !
