The "Mystery of the Loon Lake Trout" is closer to being solved! Yes, they are here - and this picture is proof! This 4 1/2 pound fish was caught and released by my son on March 14/09 on a 4" Chub (Minnow); through the ice; at 18 feet in 20 feet of water; and at 6:30 pm, DST. This fish is one of the "Haliburton Lake Trout" strain that has been stocked in our lake by the MNR. And it was caught in an area where one wouldn't normally think trout would be found!
