This afternoon, five days after it started, the storm has broken! The weatherman said it's not really a "storm" per se, but a series of "lake effect squalls" from Georgian Bay .... Well, anything where I have to spend most of my waking hous for five days blowing and shovelling is a "storm" - no doubt about it! Here's some more pictures, taken during break periods when we could actually get outside when it was reasonably dry for the camera. As of this afternoon, there's more snow in my backyard than there was at the end of March last year. I can only hope that some of what fell this time will disappear before the traditional New Year storm periods. The pictures are all grey tones, but that's the way it's been for a week. And this afternoon, I just took about 20" of snow off my north facing roof. Not a bad thing to do before it becomes heavier and more buildup occurs going further into winter ! A short walk just before dinner revealed that the snow depth in the bush, off a road, is just over 30"- in an area where there's no drifting!
